Today, the President of the European Commission, Juan Manuel Barroso delivered the annual State of the Union address to the European Parliament.
He gave a frank assessment of Europe’s current problems and proposed an upbeat agenda for action, including strengthened democracy for Europe to make the EU more clearly accountable and responsive to its citizens.
